Faculty Positions

The Department of Anesthesiology welcomes applications from faculty candidates with diverse interests and expertise and a commitment to a career in academic medicine.  All ranks are considered, but we are particularly interested in recent residency graduates with advanced fellowship training, who are interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research. We seek faculty members interested in pediatric, critical care, regional anesthesia and pain management.  All applicants must be board certified or eligible for board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Resident and Fellow Positions

The Department of Anesthesiology has outstanding training opportunities, with a three or four year Residency Program and fellowships in Pain Management, Critical Care Medicine, Regional Anesthesiology and Anesthesiology Research and Education.

CRNA/Anesthesia Tech positions

employment3Nurse anesthetists are an integral part of the anesthesia team at the University of Virginia Hospital.  CRNAs and anesthesia technicians are employees of the University of Virginia Health System, which maintains a personnel system separate from that of the University of Virginia.

UVA offers a wide variety of cases for CRNA practitioners.  As a Level I Trauma Center, UVA offers state-of-the-art trauma, medical, surgical, and burn treatment.  University Hospital has 29 inpatient operating rooms, 12 outpatient operating rooms, and 14 remote anesthesia locations (CT/MRI, Interventional Radiology, Lithotripsy, and Endoscopy).
