Dr. Mohamed Tiouririne Leads First Annual Maternal Critical Care Conference

May 22, 2023 by hma5jn@virginia.edu

In April, Dr. Mohamed Tiouririne and colleague, Michelle Dawson, directed the first annual Maternal Critical Care Conference with faculty speakers from the Departments of Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. The goal of the conference was to provide a comprehensive review of maternal critical illness, with topics including maternal morbidity and mortality, common and unique obstetric emergencies, and strategies to build a bridge between labor and delivery and critical care units. Participants also had the opportunity to practice clinical application during case-based teamwork activities. The two-day conference was an enormous success and will undoubtedly inform and advance the care of critically ill pregnant patients in the future. Congratulations to Dr. Tiouririne and all the faculty members who participated. View Full Program
