This year’s Lipscomb Lecture will be presented by Keith E. Littlewood, MD. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 4:30pm at the School of Medicine. Dr. Littlewood was chosen to speak by students of the School of Medicine Class of 2026.
The Lipscomb Lecture, presented annually by the UVA Medical Alumni Association, was established by the Class of 1968 as a gift to future generations of UVA medical students. The lecture honors Miss Annie G. Lipscomb, longtime secretary to the dean of the School of Medicine, whose dedication to assisting medical students was legendary. The Class of ’68 so cherished her presence in the school that they chose to keep her memory alive through endowing this lectureship in her name.
In the past few years, the Lipscomb Lecture has served as a way to expose students to physicians in Health System Leadership who provide a unique perspective on the UVA health care system and the important educational experiences students are about to embark upon.
Previous speakers have included Drs. Taison Bell, Cameron Webb, David Wilkes, Curt Tribble, Rick Shannon, and Bill McGee of Operation Smile.
