The Commonwealth of Virginia provided significant funding to the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center (UVACCC) for pediatric cancer research for FY23 and FY24. The UVACCC allocated these funds to support two different sized mechanisms. The first is for small pilot projects aimed at obtaining preliminary data to support extramural grant applications; the second is for projects of any size and scope from pilot projects to large multi-investigator endeavors. In each case, research should focus on basic science, translational research, clinical research, population science, or community engagement related to pediatric cancer. Large scope awards may also outline the creation of new research infrastructure.
