Associate Director for Research Administration and Strategic Planning
The University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center (UVACCC) administrative team provides infrastructure and support enabling UVACCC to function effectively, efficiently and cohesively. Led by Director for Research Administration Dina Gould Halme, PhD, it offers expertise in financial management, grants administration, general administration, research development, philanthropy and communications. Team members work with UVACCC leadership to foster collaborations and support cancer-focused research through infrastructure, pilot research projects and faculty recruitment.
Administrative support is provided by four teams: Research Development, Cancer Center Support Grant Program Administration, Grants and Finance, and Research Administration and Strategic Planning Operations. - Office of Research Development: Supports transdisciplinary research by facilitating collaboration and team science, identifying funding opportunities, aiding multi-investigator proposal development, and managing the translational pipeline.
- Cancer Center Support Grant Program Administration: Oversees the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant that funds Cancer Center including planning, membership, data, internal funding opportunities, and renewals.
- Finance, Budget and Grants Operations: Oversees the Cancer Center’s financial operations.
- Research Administration and Strategic Planning Operations: Provides administrative support including recruitment, facilities, meetings and events, and communications.
