UVACCC Welcomes Allison May, MD
The Cancer Center welcomes Assistant Professor of Urology Allison May, MD, to its Cancer Therapeutics Program. Dr. May joins UVA from the University of Michigan Health-Ann Arbor, where she was a Society of Urologic Oncology (NCI T32) Fellow and a Clark Family Fellow for Kidney Cancer Research. She earned her MD and completed her urology residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Her research explores tumor progression and immune crosstalk in renal cell carcinoma using high-resolution spatial technologies and in vitro/in vivo methods to improve biomarkers and treatments. A clinical urologic oncologist, Dr. May treats kidney and prostate cancer, performing open and minimally invasive robotic surgeries. Outside of research and her clinical practice, she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and two young sons and enjoying the beautiful mountains and scenery of Virginia.
