2023 Cancer Health Disparities Symposium

The Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Population Health Program and Office of Community Outreach and Engagement invite you to join representatives from the community and region for the 2023 Cancer Health Disparities Symposium November 15 and 16 at the Graduate Hotel, 1309 W. Main St., Charlottesville.

During this two day, in-person event, we will highlight research and community efforts that addresses disparities across the catchment area:

Day 1 | November 15  3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Cancer Center members are invited to join community partners to hear how community-based organizations are addressing the cancer burden in Virginia. A short community presentation will be given followed by a networking reception for researchers and community partners.

Day 2 | November 16  8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cancer Center members and community partners will learn about the latest in health disparities programs and research. Topics will focus on:

  • Community Advisory Council Recommendations
  • Catchment Area Disparities
  • Cancer Screening and Research
  • Community Grant Projects
  • Cancer Health Disparities Research

We kindly ask that you RVSP. Attendance both days is highly recommended, but not required.
