Extramural Fellowships

Cancer Center Outstanding International Student Fellowships

Lead through UVA’s Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BIMS), the Outstanding International Student Fellowships are awarded to international graduate students who successfully demonstrate passion for scientific discovery and a clear interest in pursuing a career in cancer research.

Cancer Center Trainee Fellowship Awards

UVACCC has an annual call for proposals for its Trainee Fellowship awards. Up to $25,000 is available to support trainees who are performing cancer-focused research under the mentorship of UVA Cancer Center members. This support can be in the form of funds for salary, supplies, or travel with the proper justification. Apply here. A full list of our past awardees can be found here.

Cancer Center Trainee Travel Awards

To further support the work and research of our trainees, UVA CCC provides small awards aimed at ensuring that our trainees are able to attend leading-edge conferences and scientific meetings to present their research. Awards up to $1,250 for domestic travel and $2,000 for international travel are made on a rolling basis for upcoming travel, and can cover travel expenses including conference registration, lodging, and transportation costs.
