Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
History
The Center for Diabetes Technology (CDT) is comprised of leadership, faculty, and researchers with educational and experience backgrounds from 15 different countries, who are committed to curating an environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion are considered in all Center activities.
Research
The Center acknowledges the need for conducting diabetes technology research for populations with diverse backgrounds and health disparities. Our mission is to reduce the glycemic outcome variability and increase education and diabetes technology use among historically underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.
Engagement
CDT supports all available opportunities to learn and engage with the Charlottesville community and surrounding communities about advancing diabetes technology therapies. We focus on advocating for increased education and awareness about the innovative efforts and supporting research made towards advancing the use of diabetes technology through the Center’s activities.
Conduct
The Center takes great pride in conducting respectful and ethical research within the diabetes technology field. We embrace a culture that supports and enables the participation with a diverse community to improve the lives and reduce the burden of persons living with diabetes.
