Dayu Lv, PhD
Dr. Dayu Lv received his PhD in 2011 from the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, University of Notre Dame. Dr. Lv’s research was focused on modeling of glucose metabolism in human beings (normal subjects and type 2 diabetics). Coordinated control of blood glucose level is mainly regulated by insulin from pancreas. The model was trying to describe pancreas’ response to glucose from a physiological perspective. Dr. Lv is currently working on euglycemia control of type 1 diabetes. Using as a stimulator of glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis to release glucose to plasma, glucagon is a promising candidate to improve control strategy and performance. Dr. Lv’s research goal is to investigate the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of exogenous and endogenous glucagon in type 1 diabetics. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing badminton or soccer, and hiking.
