The Division of Nephrology’s Brendan Bowman, MD, who is medical director for the clinic, commented:
“We are extremely proud of Amherst Dialysis unit’s recognition as Facility of the Year for an unprecedented second year in a row by the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition. This award validates the hard work from the physicians and staff at Amherst to create a truly patient-centered experience. Unlike many units, the patients are an integrated part of the of the unit at Amherst. They serve on management committees, providing valuable insight to unit leadership, and also take on voluntary roles in welcoming and mentoring their fellow patients.”
