From UVA’s Department of Emergency, Drs. Robert O’Connor and Debra Perina were recent recipients of American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) oral examiners awards. Dr. O’Connor is Professor and Chair of Emergency Medicine and Dr. Perina serves in several capacities, including Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director of the EMS Fellowship.

“During the opening General Session at each Oral Certification Examination (OCE) administration, ABEM presents awards to oral examiners based on the number of examinations in which they have participated. In acknowledgment of their generous service to the Board’s examination process, ABEM recognized 23 examiners at the fall 2018 OCE.”
