Drs. Moak and Hartka Receive Awards

Dr. Thomas Hartka, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine

Dr. James Moak is the recipient of this year’s Robley Dunglison Award from the School of Medicine.  The Class of 1964 established this award to honor the first faculty member of the School of Medicine.  It is given annually by the graduating class to a member of the faculty in recognition of “outstanding teaching efforts and personal contributions towards arousing interests and inspiring the endeavors of the students.”

The Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) has announced that Dr. Thomas Hartka has been chosen to receive the Best Paper Award from the 2019 Annual Scientific Conference of the AAAM for his paper entitled “Accuracy of algorithms to predict injury severity in older adults for trauma.” This selection was made by the entire AAAM Scientific Program Committee based on the quality of research presented in Dr. Hartka’s manuscript and feedback collected from attendees during the annual conference in Madrid.
