Dr. Hartka, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Dr. Thomas Hartka has been awarded a grant for his project, “Novel deep learning strategy to translate ICD Codes to the Abbreviated Injury Scale,” from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). With this award, Dr. Hartka joins an elite group of funded Principal Investigators (PIs) in Emergency Medicine. In the United States, there are about 100 Emergency Medicine physicians and less than 40 instutitions that have Emergency Medicine programs funded by the NIH.
