Dr. Moira Smith, and her multidisciplinary team members from the University of Virginia, have been awarded a $100,000 Large Seed Grant from the TYDE Grand Challenge for their project, “Bridging Gaps in Youth Mental Health: A Digital Solution for Connecting Schools, Emergency Departments, and Families.” This initiative aims to improve care coordination and access for vulnerable adolescents transitioning between acute mental health events and school environments, utilizing digital technology. Faculty and residents are encouraged to engage with the project as it is innovative and impactful. The TYDE team praised the proposal’s quality and alignment with their focus on youth mental health and digital solutions, requesting brief project updates at six-month and one-year milestones.
“This exciting initiative exemplifies the kind of innovative, collaborative, and impactful work our department strives to achieve.”
