Bachelor of Science in Dietetics – Marywood College, Scranton, PA.

Experience

Joe has 35 years of clinical experience, and has been at UVA for the past 30 years.   He is one of the lead dietitians of the Nutrition Support Team-Medicine.

Interests

Joe’s areas of interest include critical care and nutrition support in organ failure.  He has authored/co-authored articles on a variety of subjects including indirect calorimetry, renal failure, immunonutrition, pancreatitis, hepatic failure, and the GI section of the ASPEN Core-Curriculum.  He leads the UVA Health Nutrition Support Journal Club meetings and co-authors the e-journal club postings.
