Communication Choices

It is the position of all members of the University of Virginia Cochlear Implant Team that families are provided with thorough and unbiased information regarding the communication options available for their child.  The goal of this discussion is to allow families to make an educated decision for their child regarding both communication options and educational methodologies. Unconditional support and appropriate resources are given regardless of the methodology the family chooses.  Contact information for support groups or for individual parents who have offered their support to newly-identified families is also available.
