Tamm Postdoctoral Research Awards

The Tamm Postdoctoral Research Awards have been established as a tribute to our former chair, Dr. Lukas Tamm, to recognize the exceptional contributions of postdoctoral researchers, including research associates and scientists, within the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics. Annually, two awards will be bestowed—one to an early-stage postdoc (Years 0-3) and another to a senior postdoc (Year 4 and beyond)—in acknowledgment of their research excellence. The selection process will focus on the caliber and significance of their research, as well as their productivity during the postdoctoral training period, with graduate work not factoring into the decision-making. Award selections will be conducted by a faculty committee, with nominations accepted from any primary faculty member. Recipients of the award will receive a $500 prize along with a crystal plaque, and they will be invited to present their work at the MPBP-PA Annual Symposium held in July.
