Michael D. Warwick, M.D.
Michael Warwick, MD, is an assistant professor and physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He helps patients restore function after an illness or injury. He has a particular interest in neurorehabilitation, electrodiagnostic medicine and spasticity management, including chemodenervation.
Warwick grew up in Covington, a small town in western Virginia, where his family owned and operated a clothing store for 100 years. As a child, he dreamed of being an architect, and he pursued this dream at the UVA School of Architecture. His design career took a turn, however, when he discovered his true passion: helping others. This led Warwick to return to UVA for medical training and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
“I am delighted to stay on as faculty and continue my career at this great university,” he says.
