COVID-19 Update

Letter to Patients: Director, Rachel H. Kon, MD

Dear PSP Patient Teachers,

As part of continuing efforts to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, the UVa School of Medicine is suspending medical students attending in-person health system appointments and procedures as well as home visits at this time. Your students will still be in touch electronically or by phone.

These precautions, along with many others the University and Health System have implemented, are in place to prevent spread of the virus in our community. This is one of many precautious to specifically protect our patients with chronic illness.  We are still here to support you and the community and preparing our health care workers to take care of patients effected. Please contact your physician’s office with specific concerns related to the virus.

More information on the novel coronavirus and the University’s response are available here:

Our students are so grateful for your time and tremendous contribution to their education. We look forward to continuing to partner with you for your student’s education and your health. We will send updates when available.

With deep gratitude for your time and teaching of our students,

Rachel Kon
