UVA Adjustment Disorder Study

The UVA Center for Psychiatric Clinical Research seeks adults, ages 18 to 80 who were diagnosed with cancer (stages 1-4) or another serious medical illness (e.g. ALS, PD, MS, or IPF) who are experiencing who are experiencing symptoms of depression and overwhelm over at least the last 4 weeks.

 

The purpose of the study is to test the efficacy of the study medication at an effective dose compared to a lower dose. The study involves taking an experimental medicine, blood draws, ECGs, and completing assessments during 12 study visits (8 in-person, 4 phone visits) over a period of about 2 months. Study-related exams, tests, procedures and experimental medication provided free of charge. Participants will be compensated for their time after each study visit.
