About the Lecturer — Jamlik-Omari Johnson, MD

Jamlik‐Omari Johnson, MD is a professor of radiology and emergency medicine. He is the inaugural Stuart Dale Fordham MD chair of radiology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and also serves as the associate dean for faculty professional and leadership development. He completed his undergraduate degree with honors from Brown University in Healthcare Organization and Policy, medical school at University of Pennsylvania and completed his surgical internship and radiology training at Columbia University.

After time in private practice and at MGH/Harvard University, Dr. Johnson was recruited to Emory University to develop and to lead the nascent emergency and trauma imaging division. As the inaugural division director, he stimulated the growth of the clinical group to over 20 faculty covering five hospitals across the enterprise 24/7/365. He is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in the field of emergency radiology and is past president of the American Society of Emergency Radiology.

Throughout his private practice and academic career, Jamlik‐Omari has championed equitable delivery of healthcare services. He served as the inaugural vice‐chair for diversity, equity and inclusion at Emory University and led the department toward the establishment of more inclusive policies. In his new chair role, Dr. Johnson is responsible for the day‐to‐day management, multi‐tiered advocacy and strategic growth of a department of more than 100 staff, trainees and faculty. Passionate about mentoring, leadership development and fostering inclusive environments for patients, learners, educators, researchers, administrators, and clinicians, Dr. Johnson is a change agent for institutional transformation and now regularly lectures about health equity and leadership development.
