Awards & Recognition Program
The Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging submits nominations for awards to local and national radiology societies in recognition of our clinical and research faculty, trainees, and staff, in order to promote our department and UVA’s School of Medicine as a national leader in academic radiology. As a result, the program aims to imbue a culture of excellence at all levels of the department.
The program submits an average of five to seven faculty for promotion and tenure considerations each year; three to five nominations of other faculty, trainees, and staff for institutional and national recognition opportunities; and other nominations for UVA awards for teaching, research, mentoring inventions, and diversity. Junior faculty receive increased support in order to help establish national recognition that will help in the promotion and tenure process.
