- MMR (Measles/Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella (Chickenpox)

Participants are also required to complete TB screening.
COVID vaccination and boosters are recommended.
All SMLP scholars are required to
- Commit their full effort of 40 hours per week for 6 weeks
- Attend all required seminars and events
- Participate fully in the MCAT course
- Abide by the UVA Honor Code
We expect full participation in the MCAT course of all scholars. Thus, students who have already taken the MCAT may participate in the program if they plan on re-taking the test after completion of the program.
Please let us know if you have received another offer. If it is possible, we will expedite the review of your application and give you a decision.
Students who have completed their undergraduate degree may apply to SMLP in the same calendar year.
SMLP is designed for students who are upperclassmen at their respective college/university. Ideally, students are applying for admission into the program as rising juniors or seniors. We will also consider those who have graduated either in the winter or spring before beginning the program. Due to the intensity of the MCAT prep course, ideal candidates will have completed some of the core pre-medical coursework (e.g. Biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physicis, calculus).
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is suggested; however we look at the entire application and do not disqualify applicants based on a single feature.
