Cancer Center Welcomes Kari Ring, MD, MS
The Cancer Center welcomes Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Kari Ring, MD, MS, to the Cancer Prevention and Population Health Program.
Dr. Ring’s research interests include hereditary cancer syndromes, increasing access to genetic testing and cancer prevention care for rural patients, as well as prevention studies for high-risk mutation carriers.
She is the Associate Fellowship Director for the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship and the lead for residency research within the OBGYN department.
Through her specialization in surgical and medical treatments for women with gynecologic malignancies including cervical, ovarian and uterine cancers, Dr. Ring is dedicated to improving screening protocols and methods for cancer risk reduction.
Dr. Ring earned her medical degree at the School of Medicine and completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Outside of work, she enjoys training for marathons, hiking, and wrangling her three children, ages 8, 11 and 14.
