CRX Program Welcomes Krithika Shanmugasundaram, MD
The Cancer Center welcomes Krithika Shanmugasundaram, MD, Assistant Professor of Hematology and Oncology, to its Cancer Therapeutics Research Program. An expert in CAR T-cell research and therapy, she specializes in treating lymphoma with cellular therapy, bone marrow transplantation and immunotherapy. Dr. Shanmugasundaram researches targeted cellular therapies for lymphomas and blood cancers through clinical trials, aiming to improve bone marrow transplant efficacy and safety for relapsed and refractory cases. She is also a member of the UVA Stem Cell Transplant program.
Dr. Shanmugasundaram earned a BS in biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MD from the University of Michigan Medical School, and completed an internal medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine. She pursued a hematology-oncology fellowship at the NIH, serving as Chief Fellow. Join us in welcoming her to the Cancer Center!
