CRX Program Welcomes Matthew McCord, MD

The Cancer Center welcomes Assistant Professor of Pathology Matthew McCord, MD, to the Cancer Therapeutics Research Program. A neuropathologist and translational researcher, Dr. McCord studies brain tumors, focusing on glioma pathogenesis, treatment sensitivity, and new therapies. His clinical interests include surgical neuropathology (particularly diagnosis of brain tumors), autopsy neuropathology, neurodegenerative disease, neuromuscular pathology, and ophthalmic pathology. Dr. McCord earned a BS in biology from Florida Institute of Technology and an MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Before completing medical school, he joined the NIH’s Medical Research Scholars Program. He completed his anatomic pathology residency, neuropathology fellowship, and an NRSA F32-funded postdoctoral research fellowship at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
