GEN Program Welcomes Kexin Xu, PhD
The Cancer Center welcomes Kexin Xu, PhD, Professor of Genome Sciences, to its Molecular Genetics and Epigenetics Research Program.
Dr. Xu seeks to interpret how epigenetics contributes to cancer development and progression.
Her research focuses on understanding the interactions between tissue-specific transcription factors and epigenetic regulators in transcriptional control.
She studies epigenetic modification crosstalk and how it shapes the genome’s physical structures. Dr. Xu examines how epigenetic tags respond to internal and external stimuli to identify new biomarkers and drug targets.
Dr. Xu earned her BS in Biology from Wuhan University. She earned her PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Dr. Xu then completed her postdoctoral training in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Xu to UVA and the Cancer Center!
