There will be food, fun, community resources and family-friendly activities for all ages! UVA Cancer Center Team members will be there with educational resources.

Dr. Ganti, MD, PhD, is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Fellowship trained in breast imaging. In addition to her clinical role, she is the director of breast MRI for the UVA breast imaging division. Her additional areas of interest include care for underserved women locally, regionally, and globally.
Join us to learn about the latest breast cancer screening information including guidelines, best practices, issues, and policies with a focus on interventions that can reduce barriers to cancer screening. Screenings start at 8 a.m. for both insured and uninsured individuals. To schedule your screening, please call 434-243-4704.

Please join Aimee Strong, DNP, AGACNP-BC on November 8, 2023 from 12-1pm for the next webinar on the Lung Cancer Screening Landscape. Dr. Strong has worked as both a RN and NP at UVA since 1995. She worked at Centra Health in Thoracic Surgery from 2015-2019 where she developed and led the first lung cancer screening program for Central and Southside Virginia. Aimee returned to UVA in 2019 to lead the Lung Cancer Screening Program. At both Centra and UVA, patient and provider outreach has been an important aspect of Aimee’s work to grow lung cancer screening in Virginia. In addition to working in the Lung Cancer Screening Program, Aimee also works in Thoracic Surgery where she cares for patient with Lung Cancer, Esophageal cancer, and benign thoracic diseases. Her other clinical interests include smoking cessation, incidental pulmonary nodule management, and health promotion/disease prevention. Aimee received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from VCU, her Master’s in Nursing from UVA, and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from ODU. Aimee resides with her husband, Bill, in Nelson County Virginia, gleefully enjoying their empty nest.
