This free 2-part Understanding Cancer workshop helps you understand cancer risks and cancer screenings. You’ll also get personal support from a trained UVA Cancer Screening Navigator. Food and refreshments will be provided. Whether you’re new to the topic or want personalized screening help, this workshop is for you! This event is hosted by the Central Virginia Health Services and the University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center.
This workshop is for anyone interested in learning about:
- Cancer and cancer screenings
- How to take action toward better health

Why: COE will be providing breast cancer screening education and navigation services for Pink Power Walk. The purpose of this walk is to build awareness about breast cancer and to provide local resources for attendees who are interested in learning more about breast cancer, mammograms, and the impact breast cancer has on our community.

Event info (from UVA School of Med website): The purpose of these bi-weekly (every two weeks) events is to advance community engagement and health equity for all. At Fifeville Health Station, residents can receive free blood-pressure and blood-sugar checkups, get help accessing their cancer screenings, as well as take home fresh produce via a pay-what-you-can farm stand.
