Dr. Anas El Fathi holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from ISAE, Toulouse, France. Between 2013 and 2016, he worked in the aerospace industry, where he designed simulation software for flight simulators. In 2020, he received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Benoit Boulet and Dr. Ahmad Haider. His research interest lies in applying engineering concepts, including control theory, system identification, Bayesian estimation, and machine learning, to solve clinical and biomedical problems. In 2020, he started a postdoctoral position at the Center for Diabetes Technology (CDT). Currently, his work focuses on developing algorithms for optimizing insulin dosing strategies to improve glucose regulation in type 1 diabetes, with a particular focus on people using insulin pens.
