Professional Activities:

Sara joined CDT in the fall of 2024. She’s spent 10 years working in clinical research settings in both academic and industry environments and has experience in cardiology, neurology, orthopedic, diabetic, gynecologic, and psychiatric research. Prior to her role as an RN and clinical research professional, she spent 10 years working as a journalist for NPR-member stations in Virginia, Wisconsin, and Maryland providing community-focused reporting for both urban and rural communities. Sara is also an experienced trainer and mentor, and has worked primarily in university settings, administering student programming and conducting research on diversity in academia. Her areas of expertise include academic and clinical research, nursing, journalism, and program development.

Personal Activities:

Dancing is one of Sara’s favorite pastimes, and she has offered her services as a choreographer in Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. She also enjoys design and fashion and has been known to make and design clothes. Beyond that, Sara enjoys anyone with a sense of humor (particularly, puns) and likes pretty much all foods that don’t have mayonnaise.
