About
The efforts to create an atmosphere and community that is more than welcoming to all cannot be shouldered upon one person, team, or office, but must be established in the rooted values and shouldered by all individuals within the community. Diversity and equality has to be more than a number or checkbox, it must become a way of life that encompasses difference, welcomes uniqueness, and embraces people simply because they are people worthy and equal regardless of disability, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, race/ethnicity, nationality, and other social dimensions. We as a department, school, and community must be dedicated to inclusion without exception because only then can we truly remove roadblocks to limits previously seen as unreachable and aspire people to dream bigger, motivate them to strive for higher goals, and aspire and encourage all to achieve more than ever before.
