Didactic Lecture Series

Didactic Lecture Series, (2:00–3:00 pm, each Tuesday; also from 12:00-1:00 pm during July and August): Faculty give didactic lectures on a wide variety of topics. As the important topics are too many to cover in one year, the lecture schedule is designed to cover all important topics at least once every two years. Before the lecture is to be given, faculty are asked to provide reading material (review, seminal paper, practice guideline, chapter, etc.) corresponding to the lecture. (These one to two key references may be something that summarizes what will be discussed, or they can be supplementary reading dealing with an important related issue that will not be specifically discussed.) These references (along with the slides used in the lecture) are made available to fellows via a password-protected repository called ACTOR, which is managed by the Dept. of Medicine.
