About
The Exercise Physiology Core Laboratory
The Exercise Physiology Core Laboratory (EPCL) was established in 1990 to support clinical research that incorporates exercise science into research questions. We offer cardiopulmonary exercise assessment, measures of functional fitness, lactate threshold assessment, home exercise oversight, supervised exercise training, body composition assessment, and resting metabolism measurement. We can also assist the PI and study team with other duties related to protocol development, grant preparation, subject recruitment, and subject retention.
The EPCL team: Antonio Abbate, MD, Ph.D., Medical Director; Art Weltman, Ph.D., Faculty Director; Lisa Farr, M.Ed., Director; Shannon Wells, M.Ed., Exercise Physiologist; Jennifer Bauerle, Ph. D, Exercise Physiologist
