Thank you for your interest in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship program at UVA.

We are committed to providing fellows with the environment and mentoring that will foster the development of outstanding leaders in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Eligible candidates must have completed an ACGME or AOA accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology program in good standing and passed USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3. Our program sponsors the J-1 visa, so international medical school graduates must be eligible for ECFMG certification before matriculation and demonstrate spoken and written English proficiency.

A Complete Application Consists of:

  • ERAS application
  • Medical school transcript
  • USMLE transcript (only scores at 210 or higher and passed on the first attempt will be considered)
  • 3 letters of recommendation, at least two of which are from OB/GYN faculty members at your institution
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school performance of evaluation (Dean’s letter)

Important Dates for 2023: 

  • May 1, 2023—deadline for applications to be included in the first notification
  • May 15, 2023—single notification date for interviews
  • May 21, 2023—initial deadline to accept or decline interviews

Important Matching Dates for 2023:

  • Match opens: June 28, 2023
  • Ranking closes: September 13, 2023
  • Match Day: September 27, 2023

Interviews:

All interviews will be conducted virtually via Zoom. Interview dates will be:

  • July 19, 2023
  • August 2, 2023
  • August 9, 2023
