Apply to the Fellowship
Criteria for Selection of Trainees
Trainees in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology must have successfully completed an accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. They must be Board eligible and file an application with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology at least 90 days prior to entry into the fellowship. Their application must be approved by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology before beginning their fellowship. They must obtain the knowledge and skills outlined in the “Guide to Learning Gynecologic Oncology” and must conform to the current “Special Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Gynecologic Oncology” as prescribed by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The University of Virginia accepts fellowship applications only through ERAS. Our program sponsors the J-1 visa so international medical school graduates must be eligible for ECFMG certification prior to matriculation and demonstrate spoken and written English proficiency.

- USMLE Transcript – (only scores of 210 or higher passed on the first attempt will be considered)
- Standardized Gyn Onc SLOE includes notable accomplishments, procedural skills, patient care and summary statements.
- Standardized Residency PD/Supervisor SLOE includes notable accomplishments, communication skills, leadership and teamwork observations, teaching skills and commitment to personal growth, and summary statements.
- Three (3) total letters of recommendation, 2 of which require a SLOE form.

Invitations to interview dates for the 2024 University of Virginia, Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship will be sent on Friday, April 26, 2024.
All interviews will be conducted via a live video link. The 2024 dates for interviews will be July 17th and July 31st, 2024.
