Nikki Ralston was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. After moving to Amarillo, TX she soon graduated from Tascosa High School. Then she attended Lubbock Christian University, where she played volleyball and graduated with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Sciences. After graduation, she was a Peace Corps health volunteer for two years in a rural village in northern Rwanda, Africa. She served in immunizations, wound dressing, HIV/AIDs, family planning, maternity and acute care.

She returned to Texas to complete her physician assistant education at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. She also focused on LBGTQ health education as the vice president of PRIDE health professionals and was the volunteer educator for the homeless community at Haven for Hope. She completed her training in southern Texas where she emphasized her training on acute care and general surgery.

Nikki Ralston joined UVA Physician’s Group in 2018. She is very passionate about international health and travels abroad on medical missions while teaching English. Nikki enjoys being outdoors with her golden retriever, volunteering in the community and staying active playing sports.
