Biography: 
My research expertise specializes in molecular imaging and imaging-guided therapeutic development. Outside of work, I spend quality time with my family and our golden doodle, Teddy. I am also passionate about traveling, drawing, and exploring various performing arts.

Yuan Xing, PhD

Biography: 
As a highly motivated biomedical engineer, I specialize in utilizing microphysiological systems to tackle critical biomedical challenges. My primary focus is on developing advanced microfluidic tools for in vitro studies of physiological and pathological processes across various organs. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring nature through hiking.

Biography: 
Just to share a little about myself, after earning my business degree from UVA, I completed a premed postbaccalaureate program at Bryn Mawr College. Since then, I’ve been involved in research through Dr.Li and Dr.Jin’s lab, focusing on investigating discs and disc degeneration. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new hobbies, like creating new recipes or practicing yoga. I also enjoy volunteering for various organizations and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.

Biography: 
I am a double Hoo. I went to UVA for undergrad and am a current medical student here. I am interested in pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery, with a special focus on the spine.

Andrew Huang

Biography: 
Andrew Huang is a first-year pre-med student at UVA. Andrew’s research is applying AI to quantify the inflammatory response in disc herniation animal models. He’s from Virginia Beach, and in his free time, he loves to go to the gym, go on hikes, and spend time with loved ones.

Biography: 
I am an undergraduate student pursuing a Kinesiology major and Biology minor.  My research focus on identifying quantitive measures for evaluating disc degeneration. After graduating from UVA, I plan to take a gap year to work and travel and then attend medical school. I am interested in sports medicine and pediatrics. My hobbies include playing various sports with friends, like running, flag football, and skiing. I am also involved in Grace Christian Fellowship, which is a fellowship at UVA.

Biography: 
I am an undergraduate student at UVA, double majoring in ACS certified Biochemistry and Sociology. My research interests are analyzing spinal deformities through their genetic relations to poor autoimmunity and finding innovative corrective procedures for spinal deformities currently limited to non-surgical procedures.
