Ways to Participate
We meet quarterly for Journal Club to review 2 – 4 articles in a primary disease site and discuss the relevance to our clinical practice … with beverages for a laid back “pub” environment at one of the attending’s homes after hours. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested and we will send you the Zoom link.
Virtual Open House
You are invited to join us on any of the following dates to get to know who we are and what we do in the UVA Rad Onc Department. These are informal WebEx sessions that provide a window into our clinical education including demonstrations by attending physicians in brachytherapy and the resident lecture series. You are welcome to drop in for any amount of time throughout the day. Please reach out to email@example.com to learn more.

Graduate Medical Education Office
The GME Office hosted a three-part Zoom series to kick-off the recruitment season and introduce medical students to graduate medical education training at UVA Health called “Virtual Residency Trail – What’s Happening At UVA?”. You can view the recordings and get lots of useful information on their website: https://med.virginia.edu/gme/applicant-information/
Physics Boot Camp
We held our 1st annual 1 week course in practical physics for the clinical radiation oncologist in July 2020. The course includes 5 daily sessions of a ~ 30 minute classroom based lecture + ~ 45 minutes of a hands-on “physics lab.” The goal of Physics Boot Camp is to provide our residents and medical students with practical skills and foundational insights to jump into a clinical practice in Radiation Oncology – in essence a “How Things Work in Rad Onc” kick-starter course.
