UVA Culpeper Medical Center

 

 

The Department of Radiation Oncology at UVA Culpeper Medical Center is staffed by UVA Department of Radiation Oncology physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and therapists. One of our faculty, Dr. Shiv R. Khandelwal, Associate Professor, serves as Medical Director.

 

 

 

The Department is equipped with one of the first Tomo HD units installed in the world. This unit matches the Tomo HD unit at UVA’s Emily Couric Cancer Center allowing for easy transfer of patients between the two facilities without the need for extensive replanning of treatment as would be needed by transfer to other facilities. Patients treated at this facility have their treatment plans reviewed by the entire UVA team, just like our patients treated at the UVA campus, at the twice weekly intradepartmental simulation conference.

 

 

The Department is located within UVA Culpeper Medical Center on US-29 business in Culpeper, VA and offers easy access to northern Virginia, Warrenton, Front Royal, Winchester, Fredericksburg, Orange, Gordonsville, Louisa, Madison, and Ruckersville. On the grounds, the department is located adjacent to the UVA medical oncology office, which shares the waiting room, and Culpeper Surgery Center.
