The Ligand Assay & Analysis Core of the Center for Research in Reproduction (CRR) occupies the sixth floor of the Suhling Wing of the Old Medical School. Faculty Center members are housed in laboratories throughout the Health System at the University of Virginia and see patients in the areas of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Pediatrics.
The Center for Research in Reproduction Ligand Assay and Analysis Core provides high quality, cost-effective assay services for CRR projects and other Fertility and Infertility Branch (FIB) supported projects, both internal and external. The Core’s Mission is to
- support an assay menu (for human, rat and mouse samples) required by the majority of reproductive investigators that access the Facility
- develop and validate new assays and modify current assays, as needed
- provide assistance and consultation regarding assay methodology, data reduction/analysis, and data interpretation to investigators that access our Core Facility
- provide training in the theory, development and implementation of immunoassays for clinical and basic research to graduate and post-graduate investigators by the Core Director and Lab Manager.
