The Sheynkman lab, in close collaboration with Dr. Dmitry Korkin’s laboratory at the Worchester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was awarded an R01 supported by the National Library of Medicine. This joint project will involve the development of machine learning approaches to predict properties of disease-relevant protein isoforms. Specifically, novel proteogenomics analysis will be used to detect and discover protein isoforms (Sheynkman lab), which will be integrated with cutting-edge deep learning computational approaches (Korkin lab). The aim of this study is to build powerful predictors of novel proteoforms that play a role in a host of human diseases.
