The Sheynkman lab has recently published a paper in Genome Biology that describes an approach for enhanced discovery of protein isoforms! The approach involves the integration of long-read RNA sequencing and mass spectrometry-based proteomics datasets, which allows for discovery of novel protein isoforms. This work was a collaborative effort with several labs and institutes and the long-read proteogenomics pipeline has been released as an open-source Nextflow pipeline.
