The Office for Student Affairs supports medical students during their time at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and provides personal, professional, and academic guidance.Through our advising program within the four Colleges, led by Drs. Densmore, Keeley, Peterson, and Reed, we provide students with the tools they need to thrive.Students may drop by our office on the 3rd floor of the Claude Moore Medical Education Building with any personal, career, or academic concerns.
Within Student Affairs our department over 30 awards for students who show great excellence in their field.
Certification by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) is obtained by passing Steps 1, 2, and 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). USMLE Step CS is a clinical skills exam involving standardized patients.
