Anne M. Wolf, MS, RDN

Anne M. Wolf, MS, RDNDirector of the Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education

Anne M. Wolf, MS, RDN is the Director of the Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education. Anne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and her Masters of Science from the Harvard School of Public Health. She has a diverse work experience including research at the Nurses Health Study and University of Virginia; clinical practice including owning her own private practice and working at the Women’s Place at UVA; and business being a founding developer of BMIQ. Anne has been actively engaged in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and The Obesity Society in many capacities. She served as the Chair of the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group (WM DPG) in 2014-15. She was the recipient of The Academy’s Excellence in Research Award in 2012.

She is a National DPP Master Trainer and registered dietitian and certified lifestyle coach (Wellcoaches) with a specialty in obesity. Anne has been facilitating lifestyle change groups since 2009. In 2016, as a consultant to VCDPE Anne assisted in writing the Preventing Diabetes in Virginia Strategic Plan.

Lorrie Rilko, DNP, CDCES

Lorrie Rilko, DNP, CDCES, is the Diabetes Education and Outreach Manager for the Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from George Mason University and worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care for over thirty years. In 2017, she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), with a concentration in education, from George Washington University (GWU). Lorrie also holds a Nurse Educator (CNE) certification from the National League of Nursing. She has been an Assistant Professor for the Family Nurse Practitioner program at GWU and is currently a Visiting Professor at the Chamberlain University School of Nursing. Lorrie is board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and is a lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program.

Jaelyn Munson, MS

Jaelyn Munson, MSHealth Education Coordinator

Jaelyn Munson is a native of Virginia, having grown up in Chesterfield County.  She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sciences. She also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Nutrition and Physical Activity from Virginia Tech.  Jaelyn was trained as a Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program in 2019 and since has become a Master Trainer for the Lifestyle Coach Training and the Group Coaching Skills Training.  She also serves as one of CDC’s State Quality Specialists for the National Diabetes Prevention Program here in Virginia and works to provide quality technical assistance to all delivering organizations.

Jaelyn has worked in the wellness field in various settings throughout her career and enjoys building collaborative relationships to further health initiatives. She enjoys focusing on diabetes education and prevention in her role with VCDPE as it has been a longtime career goal. In her spare time, Jaelyn enjoys hiking and trail biking with friends and family as well as baking for family gatherings.

Lisa Muras, RD, CDCES

Lisa is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).  She also holds a certification in Adult Weight Management. Lisa graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics and completed her Dietetic Internship from Sodexo.  In addition to working as a Master Trainer with the Virginia Center for Diabetes Prevention and Education, Lisa currently works at VHC Health Outpatient Diabetes & Nutrition as an Outpatient Dietician and Diabetes Educator.  Prior to going to VHC in 2017, she worked for hospitals, USDA/CNPP, and WIC.

Lisa enjoys helping individuals improve their health through better nutrition. She has a particular interest in plant-based diets, having been a vegetarian for over 25 years. In her free time, Lisa enjoys swimming, running, cooking, reading, and camping with her family.
