Robert M Ricketts III, MD
Dr. Robert Ricketts is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology & Pediatrics at UVA School of Medicine. Dr. Ricketts earned his medical degree from the Ohio State University in 2011 and then completed a 4-year residency in Global Child Health at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital. He acted as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor before making the jump to Anesthesiology and beginning his Anesthesiology residency. Dr. Ricketts went on to complete fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University. After this, he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiovascular Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School/ Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ricketts’s clinical focus is on caring for children and adults with acquired or congenital heart disease. Over the years Dr. Ricketts has received many awards and scholarships, most recently in 2020, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society as a resident. His most recent research is centered on Pediatric Thoracic and Cardiovascular treatments and interventions. He and his family reside in Charlottesville.
