Ifeyinwa Obiorah, MD, PhD, Joins Cancer Center Research Faculty

Obiorah, IfeyinwaThe Cancer Center welcomes Ifeyinwa Obiorah, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pathology and an expert in the molecular characterization of T-cell lymphomas, to the Cancer Therapeutics Program. With a special interest in cutaneous lymphomas, she is currently conducting molecular profiling of skin biopsies from children with hydroa vacciniforme in low-income populations in Mexico and South America.

Dr. Obiorah is committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion and to promoting underrepresented groups. She actively organizes and celebrates multicultural events, including Juneteenth, aiming to create a safe, inclusive environment for pathology staff and trainees and promoting community outreach for equitable patient care.

Dr. Obiorah earned her medical degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, College of Health Sciences in Nigeria. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Georgetown University and her fellowship in hematopathology at the National Institutes of Health.

In her free time, Dr. Obiorah enjoys traveling, watching movies, power walking, weird art, and spending time with her family. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Obiorah to the Cancer Center!
