Multidisciplinary Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE) Clinic

The Multidisciplinary Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE) Clinic at the UVA Digestive Health Center is a cooperative effort of physicians from the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and the Division of Asthma, Allergy & Immunology. The EoE Clinic offers both adult and pediatric care for the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).

EoE, which is characterized by elevated eosinophils in the esophagus and symptoms such as difficulty with swallowing, is typically co-managed by clinicians from the disciplines of gastroenterology and allergy. Through the adult and pediatric EoE clinics, patients have access to the multidisciplinary expertise necessary for effective treatment of this disease.

For more information, contact EoE clinic directors Bryan Sauer, MD (GI) or Emily McGowan, MD (Allergy).
