Pancreatic Biliary Services

Pancreatic Biliary Services at the UVA Digestive Health Center provides a team of expert endoscopists and a state-of-the-art digital imaging system for interventional endoscopy.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, can be combined with pancreatoscopy, cholangioscopy or percutaneous procedures, often using an endoscopic ultrasound scope (EUS), to guide endoscopic and surgical approaches. Pancreatic stones can be treated with extracorporeal, mechanical or electrohydraulic lithotripsy.

Clinic staff work closely with anesthesiologists and psychologists to treat painful conditions like chronic pancreatitis and unresectable cancer. Minimally invasive techniques are used for pancreatic pseudocysts, malignancies and strictures.
